Novena to the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus

Pray this novena each day from June 9 through June 17 in preparation for the Feast of the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus on Thursday, June 18.

On 9 November 1921, Pope Benedict XV instituted the feast of the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus, to be celebrated on the Thursday within the Octave of the Sacred Heart.
Prayer in Honour of the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus

Heavenly Father, you who have accepted the sufferings and merits of the adorable Heart of Jesus in the Holy Eucharist, in satisfaction for our sins, and have placed it upon us as a sacred pledge of our full pardon, have mercy and compassion on us, we beseech you.

Eucharistic Heart of Jesus, our gracious companion in our earthly exile, I adore you. Heart of Jesus, victim of love in the sacred Host, I adore you.

  • I would gladly console you.
  • I unite myself to you.
  • I immolate myself with you.
  • I annihilate myself before you.
  • I wish to forget myself to think of you,
  • to be forgotten and despised for love of you,
  • to be neither understood nor loved but by you.
  • I will keep silent that I may hear you,
  • and I will leave myself that I may lose myself in you.
Closing Prayer

I desire to assuage your thirst for my salvation, your burning thirst for my sanctification, that being wholly purified, I may love you with a pure and undivided affection.

Eucharistic Heart of Jesus, on fire with love of us, inflame our hearts with love of you.

With Mary Immaculate, let us adore, thank, pray to, and console the most sacred and beloved Eucharistic Heart of Jesus, in reparation for sins committed against the Blessed Eucharist.
